The Oglesbee family has been in the Florida fishing business since 1987. A long time guide on the St. Johns River, Mike's dad, Bruce moved the family from Iowa to pursue his life long dream, to some how make a living fishing. In 1991 Bruce started running bass tournaments as a side gig to his guiding. Encouraged by several of the local fishermen the business grew. In 2000, as Bruce prepared for retirement, Mike and his wife, Crystal, took over the family business.
Taking what they had learned, they purchased new equipment, worked hard, and expanded the business to what it is today, one of the premier family owned bass tournament hosting businesses in the southeast. Hosting such popular events as the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors Bass Tournament to benefit Haven Hospice for fourteen years, the Wolfson's Children's Benefit Bass Tournament for the last eight years, and the more recently added The Ed Taylor Save Rodman Reservoir Tournament. OGS has hosted a string of tournament trails and ran several other benefit tournaments from Lake Guntersville to Lake Okeechobee and all points in between.
Now in 2017, we have expanded into Eastern Alabama with the Wind Creek Tournament Trail on beautiful Lake Martin, all the while, limiting our Florida tournaments to the top benefit tournaments in Florida.
Convinced by fishermen throughout the state of Florida, we are now in the process of creating the OGS Florida Elite series. Based on many of the larger tournaments you find in Texas and in Alabama, we are working very diligently on this new endeavor.
We want to thank you in advance for your interest in OGS Tournaments. Please check out the rest of this web site and if you have any questions, please contact us.
